Christmas Shopping 2009

The joy of Christmas Shopping left long ago. These days I don't find it pleasant to have to fight my way through the crowds of people looking for gifts with no idea what to buy. Truth told it's stressful & often I come back with things that I'm not sure are suitable or will be wanted by the other person. It makes the whole exercise seem futile.

Last year for the first time & this year I've done my Christmas Shopping on the internet.I must confess that last year it did seem a little odd to me as I'd never done much purchasing online, more window shopping & pricing of things I wanted. It turned out to be easy & fun. It also saved me money.

So this year with the idea of saving my legs, wallet & patience I decided to do ALL my Christmas Gifts shopping online. It was a very good move indeed for a number of different reasons.

Firstly, it was actually enjoyable. I found suitable gifts which fitted into my budget at every turn. The prices were excellent & I purchased quite a few gifts from the specials area of Amazon & got things I may not have thought of but which I know will be liked. There was plenty of inspiration & it was so much easier than walking around the shops knowing I had to come home with something today or come back again.

My best purchases were for the littles. A brilliant & cheap Ben 10 Omnitrix Watch, & a bit of a splurge on a interactive pony - Furreal Friends Smores Pony (but it was a bargain anyway at $50 off Recommended Retail).

RC Toys are huge this year with the grand children so I found some great, inexpensive remote control Air Hogs mini planes & cars as well.

I saved all my purchasing ideas & had them delivered together which saved on the shipping (through Amazon) & all I have to do now is wrap them. Luckily I purchased the gift wrap & cards at the same time.

I'm absolutely delighted with the results of my shopping this year & can't believe it's all over & I now have the whole month to plan the Christmas lunch - I wonder if they sell a complete Christmas dinner on Amazon? I wouldn't be surprised if they did somehow.
